2023 Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG
2023 Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG
2023 Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG
San Gimignano is the homeland of a wine that breaks with the traditional definition of Tuscany as it is surrounded on all sides by noble reds. Perhaps for good cause as Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the white queen of Tuscan grapes, was the first Italian white wine to get elevated to DOCG status. Its history is well documented in the region since the thirteenth century and is the only wine to be mentioned in Dante’s Divine Comedy! Upon tasting this lovely fresh white wine (no oak is used), we immediately concluded that the work the family was undertaking in the vineyard reflected directly into the quality in the bottle. Layers upon layers of complex fruit, savoury notes and firm acidity made this a brilliant addition to our portfolio.
