Leonardo Bussoletti’s “Colle Ozio” Grechetto 2024 is a bright and expressive white that perfectly captures the fresh, mineral-driven character of this indigenous variety. Known for his precise vineyard work and gentle, natural winemaking, Bussoletti produces wines that are pure, lively, and reflective of their hillside terroir. It is 100% Grechetto comprised of two clones Grechetto di Todi and Grechetto di Orvieto sourced from the vineyards which gives the wine its name. Grechetto is generally low yielding but has a rather thick skin which means longer hanging time and more concentrated flavours. The Colle Ozio vineyards benefit from well-drained soils and a cool, breezy microclimate, preserving crisp acidity and aromatic intensity. The hillside exposure encourages slow ripening, allowing the grapes to develop pure fruit flavors with vibrant minerality. The 2024 is a vibrant, terroir-driven white that highlights the elegance and freshness of Umbria’s indigenous varieties.

Tasting:
Pale straw in the glass, the 2024 “Colle Ozio” opens with aromas of green apple, white peach, wild herbs, and citrus blossom. On the palate, it is fresh, crisp, and precise, with flavors of ripe pear, lemon zest, and wet stone, balanced by lively acidity and a subtly textured finish.
